ANNOUNCEMENTS

for September 5, 2010

BAPTISM In the late service on Sunday, we rejoice at the baptism of Landon Joseph Haro, son of Kelly and Carlos Haro. God-parents are Dana Haro and Bryan Van Beaver. Welcome to our family of faith, Landon!

NEWSLETTERS The September edition of Messiah’s newsletter is ready for pick up in the Activity hall. There are extra copies for any guests who would like one.

CHOIR will be starting this Wednesday, September 8, at 6:30 p.m. We’d love to see some new faces sprinkled in among our regular members. Come, let us sing a new song!

THANK YOU! We would like to thank everyone for their warm welcome to us. Thank you also to all who helped us move into our apartment and for the generous gifts that we received. We truly do feel settled and at home here in Green Bay. We look forward to the year ahead spent with such Christian, God-fearing people as you.

Thank you again,

Vicar and Claire Schauland

WELCOME BACK SUNDAY IS COMING! On September 12th we welcome our members back to Sunday School and Bible class with a chicken booyah lunch after our late service.

HELP NEEDED! We are in need of volunteers to help with booyah preparation and serving. If you are interested in helping with this mouth-watering premier booyah, please sign up in the activity hall.

AREA MEN’S CHOIR A newly formed ELS/WELS Partnering Group of Green Bay is proposing an area Men’s Choir. The choir would be available to participate a few times a year in area services. Choir members need not commit to participating in all events. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, or would like to suggest a director, or volunteer to serve as business manager (to handle scheduling and communications), please contact:

NEW BIBLE CLASS BEING PLANNED We’re making plans to offer a family Bible class, in which the parents will study "Families of the Bible" . We’d like to offer child care during the class, which will be held on Monday nights from 6:30 to 7:30 pm starting October 4th. If you would like to volunteer as a child care specialist, please let Pastor Sauer know.

SUNDAY SCHOOL SUBSTITUTES If you would like to teach Sunday School every once in a while to help out our regular teachers, please contact Pastor Sauer and let him know! We’re setting up our sub list for this year and would love to give you the opportunity to serve our Lord by teaching others.

STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE NEEDS FEEDBACK The Stewardship Committee is considering organizing a series of WELS-based Christian financial planning seminars. These seminars would consist of 6 sessions each lasting 75-90 minutes. Before leaping in with gleeful anticipation, we would like to gauge interest in participating in the seminars. If you think this is something you may be interested in attending, please email Gene Flink at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . If we have enough people show interest, we will pursue organizing these seminars.

ONE MORE REMINDER Late service moves to 10:15 next Sunday. Sunday School and Bible Class are at 9:00 and 9:15 respectively. And what is after late service? Booyah!
